Dan’s Farmer’s Market Of Alameda Offers Delivery Program For Those With Mobility Or Other Limitations
A common refrain when it comes to nutritional health is that we need to get more fruits and vegetables into our diets.
But if folks have trouble actually getting to the supplier, or maybe just don’t have the time, they can sign up for a once a week delivery of produce that comes from select, local farms and orchards participating in the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, with which Dan’s participates.
The Community Alliance For Family Farmers describes CSA as a “ partnership between farms and consumers that keeps independent businesses thriving, (and) helps families eat seasonal, local produce.
Currently, Dan’s Farmer’s Market’s pay system is not designed to accept SNAP payments, but they are looking to modifying their system for that option. To see and hear the full story and how to sign up for delivery, at a modest price, please view the video.
