IN MEMORY OF ALAMEDA FIREFIGHTER PATRICK MICHAEL CORDER, 1980-2024

“So many he carried in hands and heart”

Two Alameda Fire Department hook and ladder trucks cross extensions of tribute at the memorial service which over 600 attended on The U.S.S. Hornet on Saturday, February 16th. Members of Fire Departments from around the bay, dignitaries and members of the public convened to bid a final farewell to a beloved,  local first responder.

Patrick Corder, 43, passed away unexpectedly due to a work-related post traumatic stress injury, according to AFD.

Chief Nick Luby, one of the nine presenters at the service praised Corder’s devout dedication, compassion and heartfelt caregiving to so many.

“He was instrumental in the success of our Community Paramedic program which has been a vital service to our community. This program paved the way for the Alameda C.A.R.E Team, the Fire Department’s mental health crisis response unit,” said Luby in an AFD Press Release.
