A FEW PICKS FROM THIS AUDIO:

“We are absolutely tracking the outcomes and the efficacy” of red light cameras in San Francisco and elsewhere where they are under consideration…What is that concern about having red light cameras?  Is it being caught?”

“If a crime is committed, and we are trying to track the direction of flight or the path  in which the vehicle …traversed through the city, that may be of evidentiary value,” with respect to what red light cameras, if approved and placed, could be used for.

“Front side windows cannot be tinted…. It costs to take the tint off, it costs to put it back on. But we have no way of tracking that ”

Of the imprinted fear of a seeing a motorcycle cop on our psyches:  “I’ve been pulled over a few times as a police officer, and even now my heart races….”

A deeply troubling  moment not long after a youth cyclist (far right, red sleeve) was struck by a car in 2022. The boy reportedly rolled on into the intersection through the stop sign, even though a stopped car had the right of way.  Note the bent wheel of the bike. The lad incurred substantial abrasions and was released from the hospital after AFD Paramedics initially treated and transported him. APD took a report from the auto’s driver who remained on scene and was visibly upset. The youth’s image has been cropped in the interest of privacy.
