THE LITTLE (FIRE) ENGINE THAT COULD, DID AND STILL DOES

Alameda, in keeping  with a number of long standing communities who herald their  rich past history, revealed a showpiece, blast from the past, rolling trophy as Alameda Fire Department  Engine # 7, wowed the thousands that saw it motor its way along the July 4th Parade Route in 2022.

The 1935 Seagrave rig served the department for decades as a critical piece of fire fighting equipment, and now serves in a new role as a shining remnant of the city’s shining, storied past.

This ANN video documentary explores the Karmic, long strange trip of this little engine that could, did and still does, and how the love and caring hands of madmen mechanics, called rig restorers, got old number 7 back home again after a long time gone.
